All About Taynara Conti- Early Life, Career and Facts

Taynara Melo Guevara, better known by her stage name Taynara Conti, was born on June 9, 1995. She is a member of the Jericho Appreciation Society, a professional wrestling stable. She is well-known by her ring name Tay Melo, which she acquired after signing a contract with All Elite Wrestling (AEW). Before joining AEW, she was a part of WWE from 2017 to 2020, becoming Taynara Conti. 

Conti’s Early Life

Born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in 1995, Conti has two sisters and a brother. Since early childhood, she has had a strong enthusiasm for athletics, primarily Judo and holds a black belt and a blue belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu – a self-defence and combat sport. Before joining WWE, she ran trials for the Brazilian Olympic squad at the 2016 Summer Olympics.

 Before joining “Instituto Reaço,” she battled for the project “Brasil vale ouro,” which is also known as Brazil is Worth Gold.

Wrestling Career

In an interview, Conti said that she knew nothing about wrestling and only learned about it after WWE approached her about trying it out. After signing a deal with the company, she moved to the WWE Performance Center in 2016, where Dustin Rhodes trained her. She wrestled for a few more years before making history in 2018 when she became the first Brazilian woman to compete at WrestleMania. The youthful, competitive wrestler had a tremendous year in 2018 because of her victories over Jessie Elaban and Vanessa Borne.

Taynara Conti has been working with AEW since 2020, and she and Anna Jay make the ideal combo. Their partnership quickly gained notoriety and became known as TayJay. They both continued to wrestle during the latter half of 2020 and 2021, taking a few victories and losing to others. She and Sammy Guevara made their AAA debut in the middle of 2022, defeating Los Vipers, Maravilla and Látigo, Sexy Star II, and Komander to win the AAA World Mixed Tag Team Championship at Triplemana XXX.
